In 1992 Nikolai & Associates Ltd. was formally incorporated in Illinois and as a foreign corporation in Iowa in 1997 and brings clients the following services:

John H. Nikolai: John Nikolai brings over 30 years of experience to bulk commodities having worked in scrap, dredging, and bulk commodity operations, management and administration. That experience started in Davenport, IA buying scrap metal across a scale and managing a warehouse operation with 15 workers identifying, sorting, and shipping to processors, foundries, and mills one million pounds of metals per month. Promoted to managing a scrap yard with ferrous and nonferrous buying, brokering, processing, and selling in LaCrosse, WI on the upper Mississippi River with a terminal operation handling bulk commodities. Named best manager for return on investment three times over eight years in competition with three other operations. Hired by a multinational corporation producing rock salt to expand its distribution, and handled all salt from a U.S. and Canadian mine totaling over three million net tons annually as Distribution Manager U.S.A. Fifty-five terminals, depots, and warehouses on the inland waterways and Great Lakes under contract for salt handling.
